Frequently Asked Questions
New Huskies communications are created by Student Academic Services in collaboration with other campus partners, including Student Life, Admissions, UW Marketing, and Housing & Food Services. Our aim is to effectively and efficiently communite with incoming undergraduate students and their families.
You can opt out of the emails by clicking the "subscription" button on the bottom of each email to change your subscriptions.
Harry the Husky is the name of the UW mascot! You'll see Harry around campus and at UW athletic events. Dubs is our live mascot.
All students are also invited to a private app called SchoolsApp run by UW Admissions. There student's can chat with one another, find roommates and create meet up opportunties. Transfer students are invited to the UW Yammer Group which serves as a private chat community.
Parents and families are encouraged to join the UW Parent & Family Facebook/Instagram and newsletters. Parents can also join the informal UW Parent Facebook Group.

Live Events: UW staff and students hosting student focused webinars around topics related to the academic and social transition. Webinars are recorded and available to watch anytime post-event. During the live event, webinars are broadcasted to Facebook and Instagram.
