Limited Term Positions | First Year Programs

Within FYP we value the student leader position and what each individual gets out of their role. Typically our Orientation Leader positions are 1-year appointments. The reason we have OL positions max out at one year is because of the following:

They are in high demand and we want to create access for all students.
We want to keep our program congruent and honor the values that we hold around student leader development.
We believe that the impact to the larger community (CTC space or first-year students) is limited since the positions end at the academic year or end of summer.

We do have opportunities for students to continue in the OL role as a Student Coordinator for Orientation.

Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m., Fri 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
Winter Break: Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Commuter and Transfer Commons (HUB 141)
Academic Year: Mon-Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Breaks & Summers: Closed

Closed during University holidays.

Through partnerships with faculty, staff, alumni, and student leaders our programs create the space for students to define how they will engage, learn, and thrive at the University of Washington.
