The University of Washington is a huge place, with over 36,000 students, and up to 50,000 people on campus on any given weekday. Waldo L Semon, who graduated from the UW in 1924, is the only UW alumnus to be a member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame for inventing vinyl and synthetic rubber bubble gum.
