First Year Programs

Academic Learning Links (ALLs)

Academic Learning Links (ALLs) are a newly developed academic opportunity for first year students. Students will learn about what it's like to major in particular arts or social science departments, and explore differences and similarities among those departments.

  • ALLs offer a registration package of four classes (17 credits) for autumn quarter.
  • The classes in each ALL were selected to complement a student's individual areas of academic interest.
  • The classes in ALLs also satisfy Proficiency and General Education requirements.
  • Each ALL is anchored by a 2 credit Learning Lab where students explore, learn, contribute their ideas, and develop their academic goals by working alongside faculty, advisers, and advanced undergraduate students in the Arts and Social Sciences.
