Parent Orientation is designed to answer your administrative, academic, and transition questions. Our presentations prepare you for the college experiences that you and your son or daughter are about to begin. While you’re at Parent Orientation, you have the chance to meet other parents who are guiding their families through similar transitions. Throughout the day, our Parent Orientation leaders will provide you with direct contact information for university staff who can help if you have a question to ask, a concern to share, or maybe a compliment to give. When you’ve completed your orientation, you’ll be fully prepared with the resources you need as a new Husky parent.
The list of offices/presenters that are involved in Parent Orientation include:
- Faculty, Academic Advisers, and Deans
- Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity
- Residential and Greek Life
- Public Safety
- University Honors Program
- Student Fiscal Services
- Career Center
- Counseling Center
- Current UW Students
- Health Services
Parent Orientation takes place on the second day of the Freshman Advising & Orientation (Wednesdays and Fridays). Check-in begins at 8:00 am and the program concludes around 5:00 pm. Parent Orientation is designed for PARENTS AND GUARDIANS ONLY. We discourage bringing younger children, since the program is of little interest to them.
