A&O Pt. 2: Summer/Autumn Admission

Start and End Time: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Morning 

  • A&O Connection Groups | 8:00 a.m.

    • Make sure to re-open the agenda from your confirmation email before the start of your session to make sure you have the most current information.
  • Break | 8:45 a.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away.
  • Advising & Registration: Part 1 | 9:00 a.m.
    • Meet your assigned advising team to learn about course selection and how to navigate academic curiosities. Learn the basic components of earning a degree at UW and create a plan for exploring classes related to your interests. This will help guide you during Advising & Registration Part 2. 
  • Break | 9:45 a.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away.
  • Conversation with Faculty | 10:00 a.m.
    • Hear from a current UW faculty member about classroom expectations, academic success, and how to build an academic support network. Get excited to ask faculty your burning questions about all things college learning related!
  • Conversation with UW Leadership | 10:30 a.m.
    • Engage in a conversation with UW Leadership and the Student Conduct office about our expectations for you as a first-year student. You will learn all about the UWs code of conduct!
  • Break | 11:00 p.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away.
  • A&O Connection Groups | 11:15 a.m.
    • Learn the detailed process of registration and discuss various resources you will use to register for this upcoming quarter and beyond.
  • Transitional Activities & Various Meetings | 11:45 a.m.
    • ​​​​How 2 Husky - Self-Guided Activities: Students who are not assigned to attend the OMA&D Meet & Greet or Student Veteran Meeting may use this time to virtually navigate the most important aspects of the transition to the UW. Access the videos using the links below.
    • OMA&D Meeting: Prospective OMA&D students will be meeting with the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity to learn more about their office
    • Disability Center
    • Student Veteran Meeting: If you are a student veteran, you will be meeting with the Office of Student Veteran Life to learn more about the programs and services available to you during your time at the university. To learn more, view additional resources.
  • Lunch Break | 12:15 p.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away and grab a bite to eat

Afternoon

The afternoon agenda times fluctuate depending on your assigned groups. Each group block will be about two hours of live interaction. All schedules include the following elements.

  • Health & Well-Being | 12:45 p.m.
    • Meet with your fellow Huskies in a large group to discuss health & wellness resources at UW with Peer Health Educators.
  • Break | 1:15 p.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away.
  • Advising & Registration: Part 2 | Times Vary  
    • Meet with your assigned adviser and register for your first quarter of classes as a Husky! Most advising and registration sessions will take place in a small group setting. Aim to keep questions relevant to this fall quarter; you can always make an appointment with your adviser after A&O to plan future quarters!
  • Registration Lab | Times Vary 
    • If you need registration assistance, visit with advisers and peer leaders while registering for your first quarter of classes.
  • Student Success Workshops | Time Varies
    • Take this time to explore different session facilitated by Orientation Leaders on different ways to be successful at UW.
  • Break | 4:00 p.m.
    • Take a moment to stretch or step away.
  • A&O Connection Groups | 4:15 p.m.
    • Conclude A&O with your Connection Group by learning about UW traditions, Dawg Daze, and plan how to engage in campus culture. Listen to some final announcements and learn about next steps to take after A&O.
  • Ask the Pack Optional Sessions
    • These sessions will run every Monday and Wednesday week during A&O part 2 session dates.
    • Housing & Food Service Information Session | 4:00 p.m.
      • Meet with staff from Housing & Food Services to learn more about residential housing and on-campus dining options.
    • Greek Life Information Session - Interfraternity Council | 5:00 p.m.
      • Come learn more about the recruitment processes for the Interfraternity Council (IFC). These sessions will be led by the undergraduate council recruitment officers and provide a chance for you to get your questions answered about how to navigate IFC recruitment.
    • Greek Life Information Session - Panhellenic Council | 5:30 p.m.
      • Come learn more about the recruitment processes for the Panhellenic Council (PHA). These sessions will be led by the undergraduate council recruitment officers and provide a chance for you to get your questions answered about how to navigate Panhellenic recruitment.
