Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation is a day-long series of presentations, workshops, and tours for parents and families of first-year students. Parent Orientation is offered in conjunction with the second day of the freshman student Advising & Orientation (A&O) program. However, Parent Orientation is open to parents of both freshman and transfer students.

  • A separate fee is charged in order to participate in Parent Orientation. This fee is billed directly to your student's tuition account and is used to offset the cost of planning the Parent Orientation program (facilities reservations, meals, parking, supplies/materials, staffing, etc.).
  • When your student registers for an A&O session online, they will be able to register parents or family members for Parent Orientation.
  • Information may not be appropriate or engaging for younger siblings or children.

Parent Orientation will provide you with an overview of the academic and co-curricular resources available to your student. You will meet faculty members, advisers, professional staff, and current students who will share their advice with you. Additionally, Parent Orientation is an opportunity to get your questions answered along with other parents and family members who are going through a similar transition. Orientation Leaders will be available throughout the day to guide you through the program schedule.
