Orientation

Freshman Dates

All sessions are subject to availability in the reservation system. Please understand the following:  

  • Regardless of when a student attends A&O they will have access to register for courses that count toward graduation requirements.
  • The availability of sessions varies as students will change session date, feel free to check the reservation system in the future.  
  • To ensure small group advising and A&O connection groups, a typical session is around 320 students. 
  • Session descriptions are listed below.  
  • Remote A&O sessions are scheduled at specific times with participants logging in to meet in small and large chat groups led by advisers, campus partners, faculty, and OLs. Read more information about our new remote A&O format.

Session Descriptions

Two-Day: General

The Two-Day General A&O is intended for first-year freshman students. Students will most likely select one of these dates unless directed otherwise in our reservation system.  

Two-Day: Engineering Direct to College

The Two-Day Engineering Direct to College A&O is intended for students who are directly admitted into the College of Engineering. 

Two-Day: EOP Scholars

The Two-Day EOP Scholars A&O is intended for students who are notified about being enrolled into the EOP Scholars Academy. 

Two-Day: Foster Freshman Direct

The Two-Day Foster Freshman Direct A&O is intended for students who are directly admitted into the Foster School of Business. 

Two-Day: Honors

The Two-Day Honors A&O is intended for students who are admitted into the Interdisciplinary Honors Program. 

Two-Day: UW Academy

The Two-Day UW Academy A&O is intended for students who are enrolled as a UW Academy student through the Robinson Center. 

One-Day: Late Sept.

The One-Day Late September A&O session is intended for fall admit students who are unable to attend any other available A&O session earlier in the summer. 

One-Day: Winter, Spring, Summer Admission

One-Day A&O sessions are intended for first-year students who are admitted for winter, spring, & summer quarters.
