How to Get to Campus & Hotel Accommodations

Whether you are coming via airplane, train, or bus, we can help you find your way to the UW. 

 

  • By Plane: Sea-Tac Airport

    If you are coming from the airport (Sea-Tac Airport) you are approximately 30 minutes or 31.5 k or 19.5 miles away from campus.

    Taxi: The approximate cost is $63 for cab, including tip.

    Shuttle Express Service: Approximately $38 per person. Call 425-981-7000 or toll-free 1-800-487-7433; or book online via the Shuttle Express website.

    Link Light Rail/Metro Bus: The total cost will be between $5.25 and $5.75 for this trip. You will pay one fare for the Link Light Rail, and a second fare for the Metro Bus.

    From the Sea-Tac Airport main baggage claim area, follow the signs and use the covered walkway to get to the Link Light Rail station (approximately ¼ mile from the main terminal).

    Purchase a ticket at one of the vending machines at the station to travel to University of Washington Station. The fare is $2.75; vending machines take cash, VISA, or MasterCard.

    Link Light Rail trains come at least every 15 minutes. Board any northbound train to University of Washington. ( The Link Light Rail runs from 5 a.m.-1 a.m. on weekdays, and 6 a.m.-12 a.m. on weekends. Outside of these times, you will need to take a cab or Shuttle Express van.     The University of Washington Station is located just south of campus next to Husky Stadium. Cross Montlake Boulevard and walk north towards the heart of campus.

     

  • By Train: King Street Station

    If you are coming from the King Street Station you are approximately 16 minutes or 8.73k or 5.4 miles away from campus.

    Both Amtrak and Sounder Commuter trains run to this station.

    Board a northbound bus to the University District from Bay A in the Seattle transit tunnel (Monday-Saturday, 5 a.m.-1 a.m.; Sundays, 6 a.m.-12 a.m.). The entrance is east of the King Street Station on S Jackson St. and 5th Ave S. Board bus #71, #72, #73, or #74 to the University District. Exit any of these buses at University Way NE and NE Campus Pkwy, and walk two blocks east to get to campus.

  • By Bus: Greyhound Bus Station

    If you are coming from the Greyhound Bus Station you are approximately 12 minutes or 7.6k/4.7 miles away from campus.

    Taxi: The approximate cost is $17 for a cab, including tip. Taxis are usually waiting or can be hailed from outside the main terminal entrance.

    Walk south one block to the transit tunnel entrance and enter at 9th Ave and Pine St. Follow signs for North towards Bay A. Board any #71, #73, or #74 bus to the University District. Exit any of these buses at University Way NE and NE Campus Pkwy, and walk two blocks east to get to campus.

  • By Car: Central Plaza Garage

    If you are coming to campus in a car you can pay to park in the Central Plaza Garage near Kane Hall. Directions are listed below and the fee for parking is $15.00 per day.
