What is college for - and whatever it is, are you doing it right? If these questions occur to you (and of course they do) you're in good company. Some of the most influential thinkers in history have wondered the same. This "practical philosophy" seminar will expose you to some of the key ideas in some of the most important writings about education in the Western world. These ideas will then be turned into useful tools for thinking deeply about your own goals and plans and for developing sophisticated strategies to guide your time at UW.
