Orientation Leaders (OLs) assist incoming freshmen, transfer students, and their families in their transition to the University of Washington. OLs play a vital role in the Advising & Orientation program. They work closely with new students and their families on a wide variety of topics including academics, student involvement, housing options, and more.
Senior Orientation Leaders (SOL) are responsible for the duties outlined above. Additionally the Senior Ol's will work collaboratively to support the learning and development of the Orientation Staff, facilitate small groups of incoming students, and peer coach new OLs around effect facilitation Role model FYP values and standards of programmatic operation.
First Year Programs fosters a successful undergraduate student experience through strategic programming that focuses on positive academic transitions and the development of learning communities. Through partnerships with faculty, staff, alumni, and student leaders our programs create the space for students to define how they will engage, learn, and thrive at the University of Washington.
