The Commuter Commons Assistants (CCAs) are responsible for making sure that the Commons provides a welcoming and resource-rich environment for the diverse population of commuter students at the University of Washington. The Commuter Commons is a space to connect with each other and build community. The Commons also serves as a study and meeting space while commuter students are on campus. Through collaboration with campus partners, students can also find resources like academic advising, tutoring and career advising.
As a staff within the Commuter Commons, the CCAs actively forms meaningful relationships with and among Commuter Commons students. They work with other Commuter Commons staff to facilitate programming that supports students’ needs and interests; and they performs various operational duties to keep the space functioning smoothly as a campus resource.
