First Year Programs, a division of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, facilitates programs to assist new freshman, transfers, and families as they establish and enrich their relationship with the UW community throughout their first year of enrollment. First Year Programs is co-located with Undergraduate Advising in the Gateway Center.

The four white columns that stand in Sylvan Grove Theater today were preserved and erected at their present site by the class of 1911. The four columns stand for LIFE: Loyalty, Industry, Faith and Efficiency.
