2017 Husky 100

March 6, 2017

The Husky 100 has recently announced their second class of students, and FYP is excited to recognize a few of these 100 that have worked with our office! This award gives credit to students from all three UW campuses who have made the most of their Husky Experience through their commitment, engagement and achievements.

The Husky 100 is an award that began last year in 2016. The application process was open to juniors, seniors and matriculated graduate students from all three campuses and included resume submission, personal statements, and letters of recommendation. This year’s selected students will be recognized in spring quarter and will have profiles on the new Husky 100 website. Additionally, they receive benefits including networking opportunities, exclusive career counseling, and invitations to events hosted by the president and provost.

Nine of these 100 aspiring students have worked within our office in various capacities. Haki Bains, Odin Atkinson, Taylor Beardall, Jannette Gutierrez, Kuang Sheng and Julie Van have all led First-year Interest Groups (FIGs) for one or more years. Lauren Mittelman served as an Orientation Leader in 2016 and Haki has recently accepted her offer to join the OL staff for the summer of 2017. Dorothy Cabantan assisted with Dawg Daze as a Team Captain for two consecutive summers in 2014 and 2015. Finally, Trevor Renken joined the office staff as a Student Coordinator for Operations in 2015 and led a FIG in 2016.

A huge congratulations to all of the students who make up the Husky 100, and thank you to those that have assisted us in the past!
